ERI Consulting, Inc. provides quality
environmental consulting services in a variety of disciplines,
specializing in airborne contaminants.
Asbestos
ERI is a licensed consulting agency with multiple individually
Licensed Asbestos Consultants in Texas, Louisiana, and
Arkansas Law. These design professionals prepare cost
estimates, write plans and specifications for asbestos
abatement, assist in selection of a qualified abatement
contractor, conduct pre-bid conferences, attend bid
openings, conduct pre-construction conferences, provide
oversight during abatement and prepare final compliance
reports.
Indoor Air Quality
Investigations of indoor air quality for residential,
office, school, hospital, and industrial settings include
testing for such contaminants as radon, formaldehyde,
carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, molds, fungi, and bacteria.
Our services include a walk through inspection of a
building to establish sources of airborne irritant and
health hazards, evaluation of building systems, air
and material sample collection for environmental health
hazards, accredited laboratory analysis of samples collected,
and a final report documenting findings. We utilize
a combination of testing procedures to investigate sources
of fungal or bacterial growth and their by products.
Industrial Hygiene
Industrial hygiene services are provided to document
occupational exposures and compliance with applicable
OSHA regulations and NIOSH guidelines. These services
include initial sampling, periodic monitoring, design
of engineering controls to minimize exposure levels,
and surveys for noise, acids, hydrocarbons, asbestos,
dust, particulates, gases/fumes, hazardous materials,
heavy metals, pesticides, and volatile organics. Our
industrial hygienists prepare risk assessments for industrial
contaminants and provide operation and maintenance programs
including respirator programs, safety manuals, and on-site
training.
Lead
Lead inspections are required in all states for Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) facilities and
HUD-assisted facilities. ERI is a
TDH Accredited Lead Agency which employs TDH Accredited
Lead Project Designers, Risk Assessors, Lead Inspectors,
and uses a NITON XRF Spectrum Analyzer XL-309 for detection
of lead-based paint and lead in soils.
Phase I Assessments / Transaction
Screenings
ERI provides Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
(ESA’s and Transaction Screenings) in accordance
with the ASTM E 1527 Standard Practice. Our Phase I’s
and Transaction Screenings are conducted to determine
the presence of, or potential for, environmental hazards.
We also have the licensing and certification to perform
lead based paint inspections, asbestos inspections,
and IAQ investigations in conjunction with our Phase
I ESA’s. This allows us to provide a complete
above-ground environmental review (if desired) in the
time it takes other firms to complete a stand-alone
Phase I ESA. Our Phase I ESA’s always include
a field investigation, a governmental data base, a chain
of title back to 1940, and records of communication
with parties knowledgeable about the site and maps.
We review and provide copies of (if available) the following
graphic information: local fire maps, engineering drawings,
aerial photographs, topographic maps, flood plain maps,
soil survey maps, meets and bounds descriptions, site
plans, and land surveys.
Phase II and Phase III Assessments
/ Remediation
ERI provides in-depth Phase II investigations in all
media, including air, water, and soil. We compare our
Phase II investigation findings to the state’s
guidelines (for example, the TCEQ’s Tier I and
Tier II PCL’s), and determine if remediation (Phase
III) or additional studies, such as the Affected Property
Assessment Report (APAR) are required. Our goal on Phase
II ESA’s is simply to find the quickest, most
economical path for determining the liabilities associated
with the subject property.
Industrial Plant Services
ERI provides a variety of services to the industrial
plant. Services include asbestos surveys, lead-based
paint surveys, fugitive emissions surveys, NORM surveys,
corrosion testing, safety plans, Spill Prevention Control
and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans, Storm Water Pollution
Prevention Plans (SWPPP), RCRA compliance audits, National
Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits,
wetlands delineation, exhaust monitoring, air permits,
noise surveys, CAD drafting, and data base design and
maintenance.ERI provides long-term air monitoring for
asbestos and lead abatement programs within the industrial
plant. We conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual industrial
hygiene surveys and prepare Operation and Maintenance
Plans for working in and around identified airborne
contaminants and safety hazards.
Energy Audits
ERI provides quality energy audits where we evaluate
all energy-using systems within your facility. This
includes an in-depth analysis of lighting systems, HVAC
equipment, ducting schemes, controls and timers, boilers,
hot and cold water systems, and building insulation
components. After a complete assessment, we provide
recommendations on energy saving measures along with
their capital costs and anticipated savings. We provide
cost benefit analysis, life cycle costing/savings, and
break even or payout terms. Many states now require
verifiable energy reductions of tax supported institutions.
Because many energy savings/reduction programs provide
pay-outs within a few years, audits and reduction plans
make sense for many institutions and facilities.
Roof Consulting
ERI provides roof consulting to architects, institutions,
and property management firms. We provide inspections/evaluations
including core sampling and testing, moisture surveys,
life cycle costing, cost benefit analyses, and recommendations
for remedial action. ERI provides project design for
roof replacement projects including plans and specifications,
bid documents, evaluation of bids and recommendations
for selection of contractors. We also provide on-site
construction monitoring and final completion punch list
verification.
Demolition Consulting
ERI provides inspection, design, and oversight of demolition
projects. Many of the projects include the removal of
hazardous materials (i.e. asbestos, lead, etc.) beforehand,
where we are already i nvolved. We give careful consideration
to site safety issues, salvage values, waste reduction,
and federal, state, and local permitting and notifications.
